Thornberry is a small community of maybe 50 to 100 people in northwestern Clay County. It dates to the 1890s, but has seen its best days, thanks to the railroad's never having been established here. The nearest large population is Dean, about nine miles to the south.

There are plenty of web-spidered directory listings for the church, but besides an inactive Facebook page (see below), they otherwise have no Internet presence. The sanctuary itself has a certain Victorian vibe to it, with a cross floor plan, lancet stained glass windows up front, and an interesting stone vestibule with stained glass windows above the entrance. "Best guess" is that it dates to 1890-1900.
