"Initially, after finishing the exhibition, its destiny was to be part of the University of Seville, that is the reason for the existing niches in each of the provinces. However, after being used during the exhibition, it became the seat of the military government, its rooms serving as the location of the Captaincy General , years later also housing the delegation of the central government in Andalusia and at the same time the Military Museum of Seville. Today it houses the sub-delegation of the Spanish government.
Also of note is the existence of a theater room within the Captaincy General.
On October 26, 2018, a meeting of the Council of Ministers took place here.
On October 28, 2021, the annual Elle magazine awards ceremony took place in the General Captaincy building "

"The Land Force (FUTER) is the most important set of units of the Spanish Army Force, whose main purpose is to establish, quickly and efficiently, land operational structures to execute military operations from the units located in the peninsular territory, in the Balearic Islands and in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
It was created by Royal Decree 912/2002, of September 6, 2002, which reorganized the basic structure of the Armies, and its tasks were detailed in Instruction 59/2005 of the Army Chief of Staff of May 5 of 2005, on Rules of Organization and Operation of the Army.1 It was established with the aim of reducing costs and adapting the joint organization of the Army to the organic transformations that it had experienced since the 1980s.
