The present Shingle style church replaces a Colonial style church which was destroyed by fire on April 2, 1887. The church was built in 1888 to a design by architect Walter Owen and was dedicated in May of that year.

A set of steps leads up to a portico entrance at the base of a tower. The entrance is covered by a gable roof with ornamental woodwork under the eaves. Above the entrance is an octagonal belfry with alternating double louvered windows. The tower is topped by a tapered octagonal spire ending with an ornate finial.

The main block of the church has a large rose window. Below the rose window is a set of six stained glass windows. An extension to the north has a ramp leading up to an auxiliary entrance. On the southeast corner is an asymmetrical four sided extension with four pane rectangular windows.
