The bronze plaque looks quite new and untarnished, so was probably placed with the centenary of World War One in 2018. It is placed on a smallish boulder at the start of the tree-lined walk from the car park to the Playground and covered BBQ. It reads:

[Australian Military Forces crest]
This Avenue of Honour
was planted and is maintained
in Memory of all the Volunteers from the
Maindample District
who served their country in World War I
1914 - 1918
