Long Description:
De Eendracht is a scaffolding mill in Anjum from 1889. The octagonal top porter was used as a grist and hulling mill and replaced an earlier monk mill, which burned down in May of that year after a lightning strike. Parts were reused from two demolished mills in Leeuwarden. Afterwards, a 40 hp Kromhout hot-bulb engine was installed in the mill to be able to grind even in windless weather.

The windmill was decommissioned in 1965 and taken over by the municipality of Oostdongeradeel in 1967. A restoration took place in 1971. In 1994 the mill was handed over to the Dongeradeel Monument Preservation Foundation. At the end of June 2008, the National Office for Archaeology, Cultural Landscape and Monuments made 96,340 euros available for a restoration of De Eendracht.[1]

The mill is in use as a tourist office and museum. In the attics of the mill, among other things, miller's attributes, mill models and a photo exhibition of mills in Friesland are displayed. Source Wikipedia
