Charmouth is a fossil hotspot where ammonites and belemnites can be readily found on the shore. There are often dinosaur fossil discoveries too and its very own Charmouth dinosaur, found only here, is the Scelidosaurus.

The fossil shop has many finds for sale as well as displays. Nextdoor is the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre with more fossils on display and another fossil shop lies in the village centre, from Chris Moore. Here Tony Gill owns the shop.
