"In 1616, Bishop Sébastien Zamet appealed to the Congregation of the Oratorians to direct his seminary and train the priests of the diocese there.

The prelate grants newcomers land and buildings of the former Saint-Amâtre priory located in the southern part of his city. The chapel only saw the light of day in 1676. Sober in its dimensions, its plan and its decoration, its entrance door is framed by an Ionic portico surmounted by a pediment.

Abandoned during the Revolution, the chapel was transformed into a performance hall in 1838. The exterior decor testifies to this new destination: masks, scores and musical instruments take place on the pediment.

Entirely renovated in 2000, the theater has a capacity of 250 seats."
