The original ballroom was located across the street. It burned down on April 27, 1947. The current building sits in the former parking lot. The Surf is best known as the last venue played by Charles Hardin Holley, Ricardo Valenzuela and J.P. Richardson. It continues to function as a dance hall and concert venue. Herman's Hermits will be playing June 3, 2022.
