In het Floriade-terrein is ook ruimte vrijgemaakt voor onderwijs voor kinderen. Op het Utopia-eiland, vlakbij de noordelijke uitgang van de kabelbaan, bevindt zich het schooltuin-project van de gemeente Amsterdam en Almere. Hier leren kinderen hoe planten groeien en kunnen ze een eigen moestuintje leren onderhouden.

Vandaag (19 januari 2022) maken Almere en Amsterdam bekend dat ze een tweede gezamenlijke inzending bij Floriade Expo 2022 verzorgen. Samen met Stichting Stad & Natuur uit Almere en Schooltuinen en Natuureducatie Amsterdam, zijn natuur- en voedsel educatie lessen ontwikkeld voor twee basisscholen – een uit Amsterdam en een uit Almere – op het Floriade-terrein. De schooltuinen blijven mogelijk ook na de Expo bestaan voor onderwijsdoeleinden (dit nog onder voorbehoud).

Deze overeenkomst maakt deel uit van ‘The Voice of Urban Nature’, het gezamenlijke paviljoen bij Floriade van Amsterdam en Almere. Met de schooltuinlessen ‘Floriade Schooltuin’ brengt Amsterdam ruim 100 jaar schooltuinenervaring naar Almere. Het educatieaanbod van Stichting Stad & Natuur richt zich op de vier thema’s van de Expo: Greening, Feeding, Healtyhing & Energising the City. Wethouder Hilde van Garderen: “Ik ben enorm trots op dit mooie project en deze mooie samenwerking. Op deze manier leren we onze kinderen al vroeg het belang van voedsel verbouwen en zo ook dus meer begrip voor de natuur!”

In the Floriade site, space has also been made available for education for children. The school garden project of the municipality of Amsterdam and Almere is located on Utopia Island, near the northern exit of the cable car. Today (January 19, 2022) Almere and Amsterdam announce that they will provide a second joint entry at Floriade Expo 2022. Together with Stichting Stad & Natuur from Almere and School Gardens and Nature Education Amsterdam, nature and food education classes have been developed for two primary schools – one from Amsterdam and one from Almere – on the Floriade site. The school gardens may also continue to exist for educational purposes after the Expo (this is still subject to change).

This agreement is part of 'The Voice of Urban Nature', the joint pavilion at Floriade van Amsterdam and Almere. With the school garden lessons 'Floriade School Garden', Amsterdam brings more than 100 years of school garden experience to Almere. The educational offer of Stichting Stad & Natuur focuses on the four themes of the Expo: Greening, Feeding, Healtyhing & Energizing the City.
