Das LVR-Freilichtmuseum Kommern ist eines der größten Freilichtmuseen Europas und zeigt auf etwa 100 Hektar die Geschichte des Rheinlands. Dazu wurden rund 78 historische Häuser und Gebäude aus verschiedenen Regionen des Rheinlands abgetragen. Anschließend wurden sie anhand ihrer geographischen Herkunft zu Baugruppen zusammengestellt und hier wiederaufgebaut. Die ältesten Häuser stammen aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, die meisten sind aber aus der Preußenzeit (18. bis 19. Jahrhundert). Die meisten Gebäude sind begehbar, im Innern wird das alltägliche Leben aus der damaligen Zeit gezeigt.

Unter diesen Gebäuden ist auch ein Tanzsaal aus Brühl-Pingsdorf. Das Gebäude wurde 1899 als Erweiterung der Gastwirtschaft "Zum Jägerhof" gebaut. Es besteht aus Ingenieur-Fachwerk und einem Giebeldach aus Holz. 1993 wurde es in Brühl abgebaut und im Freilichtmuseum Kommern wiederaufgebaut.

Dort kann der Tanzsaal seitdem besichtigt werden. Im Innern wird die originale Einrichtung sowie Fotos aus der Geschichte des Hauses gezeigt. Außerdem wird der Saal vom Museum regelmäßig für Veranstaltungen genutzt, so dass dort auch heute noch das Tanzbein geschwungen werden kann. Dazu wurde er trotz der der alten Architektur und Einrichtung mit moderner Technik versehen.

Bitte beachtet, dass ein Besuch des Tanzsaals nur mit einem kostenpflichtigen Eintritt im Museum zu den Öffnungszeiten möglich ist. Aktuell (2022) beträgt der Eintritt für Erwachsene 9,50 Euro.
The LVR-Freilichtmuseum Kommern is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe and shows the history of the Rhineland on around 100 hectares. To do this, around 78 historic houses and buildings from various regions of the Rhineland were disassembled. They were then put together into small villages based on their geographic origin and rebuilt here. The oldest houses date from the 15th century, but most are from the Prussian period (18th to 19th centuries). Most of the buildings can be walked in, and everyday life from that time is shown inside.

Among these buildings is a dance hall from Brühl-Pingsdorf. The building was built in 1899 as an extension of the "Zum Jägerhof" inn. It consists of engineer's half-timber and a gable roof made of wood. In 1993 it was dismantled in Brühl and rebuilt in the open-air museum in Kommern.

The dance hall can be visited there ever since. Inside, the original furnishings and photos from the history of the house are on display. In addition, the hall is regularly used by the museum for events, so that people can still dance there today. Therefore, despite the old architecture and furnishings, it was equipped with modern technology.

Please note that a visit to the dance hall is only possible with a paid entry to the museum during opening hours. Currently (2022) the entrance fee for adults is 9.50 euros.
