The picture shows one of the streets of the so-called New Town of Prague near the present-day centre of Prague. Nowadays the street is not so wide anymore. Na Zderaz - Zderaz is an extinct settlement that used to be located in the area of today's New Town in Prague. It used to stand on the Brežská rock, which was removed together with the surrounding buildings during the great Prague redevelopment around 1900. Today it is commemorated by Na Zderaze Street, leading from Myslíkova Street to Resslova Street.
Emanuel Salomon von Friedberg-Mírohorský (

He was also an advocate of vegetarianism and abstinence. "Mírohorský" was an artistic pseudonym that means the same thing as "Friedberg" (peaceful mountain) in Czech.
