Congregationalists organized their society in Somersville in 1871. They built the present Queen Anne/Stick style-church in 1888. Some of the original stick work has been covered with aluminum siding.

The façade has a set of steps leading up to an entrance at the base of a tower. The entrance is covered by a small gable roof. Above the entrance is a tall square belfry with three openings with rounded tops on each side. A spire in the form of a bent pyramid with an overhang decorated with braces rises from the top of the tower. A weather vane tops the spire.

The main block of the church is even with the tower and has a cross gable roof. To the south of entrance are a pair of rectangular windows bordered with small panes which is characteristic of the Queen Anne style. The east facing gable end has a tall array of narrow arched windows which are bordered with small panes. The north facing gable is one bay deep with a rectangular window with rounded top bordered by small panes. The gable end has two pairs of narrow windows with rounded tops and bordered by small panes.

There is a shorter three bay extension on the south side which has a separate entrance on the south end.
