A kilted highland soldier stands at the ready, on top of this war memorial, dedicated to the fallen of the first world war, with an additional plaque for the second world war.

The memorial once had iron railings around its base. It is understood that this was removed, presumably during WW2 for the "scrap metal drive".
The during 2018 the memorial was extensively restored.
