Built in 1984, it had 26,000 passengers pass through the building.
By 2011, that number had risen to 146,000 for the year with a total of 2.2 Million passengers in the 27 years of operation.
Harbour Air Seaplanes is the scheduled floatplane service that has routes from here to Vancouver Harbour, Richmond (YVR - Vancouver Airport), and Sechelt. The terminal is also used by Sunshine Coast Air, another scheduled service. Tofino Air, a charter seaplane company, also uses the terminal.
The building is also home to a Pub and Bistro. The Bistro added a outdoor patio in 1996.
The Lighthouse Bistro and Pub are on two levels with good views from both.
