A giant Vodka bottle is placed in front of Absolut Home. The bottle consists of blue tiles with a built-in oven. It is 5-6 meters high. The bottle is one of several bottles that have been placed around the world as advertising. This has been in Berlin in 2003, and is now located in front of the Absolut Home in Åhus.
Absolut is a Swedish vodka brand that has been produced since 1879. The factory was started by the businessman Lars Olsson Smith who wanted to produce pure spirits, free of toxic impurities. This later gave him the name "The King of Vodka". His portrait is on every bottle of Absolut Vodka.
The name "Absolut" originated from the Swedish name "Absolut renat brännvin".In 1979 it was given the more international name Absolut. It got a new, clear bottle with text printed directly on the bottle. At the same time, there was massive advertising and the brand managed to become the third best-selling liquor brand after Bacardi and Smirnoff.
In Absolut Home you can book a tour and see how Absolut Vodka is made. The tour costs DKK 350 and lasts 1 1/2 hours. There are also tastings. (a single :-) ) There is both a restaurant and a shop on site.
