The Church of Ireland building dates back to 1827. Originally known as St. John, it was rededicated in 1886. Directly across the road from the churchyard is an old entrance through the castle wall to Castle Upton. It is likely that there were Anglicans here long before 1827. Castle Upton was built around 1610, on the site of a former priory of the Knights of St. John.
