The land here on Carnmoney Hill is managed by the Woodland Trust. The Belfast Hills Partnership began excavations of the Dunanney farmstead in 2014. The farmhouse and outbuildings were already on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1833. Members of the Thompson family continued to reside here into the 1970s, before the family home was destroyed in a fire. The interpretive panel on site is very informative.
