On the simulacrum: In the nature reserve "Langhammars Naturreservat" nature has created some quite bizarre works of art with the limestone pillars called rauken. Some resemble raised heads, others are just plain bizarre. This rauk reminded us even in a little bit abstract way of a dog's head.
On the area: The Swedish government declared the area around the rauks at Langhammars on the island of Farö, north of Gotland, as a nature reserve in the 1970s. There are about 50 rauks with a height between 4m and 10m, which are accessible to everyone free of charge. A parking lot is located about 160m south.
