The plaque says, "This historic farm acquired by the City Council of San Juan Capistrano, in cooperation with the Community Redevelopment Agency, through proceeds of the Open Space Bond Issue, approved by the citizens in April, 1990.
The Joel Congdon House, built on this site in 1877, is the City's oldest wooden structure.
