Interred in a pauper's grave with a hand-lettered concrete marker, the plot of Pierre Vivequin (born 1863) offers a scenic view of Harris Pond from the far west end of Precious Blood Cemetery / Cimetiere Du Precieux Sang of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
The gravestone's form is a plain Christian cross that stands about 30 inches tall and 20 inches wide. It wears a peeling coat of light blue green paint, a color reminiscent of zinc headstones, and the letters are filled with contrasting dark tint. The manual inscription is written along its southern face:
PIERRE VIVEQUIN
DECE DE
LE
21. SEP
1932
The Cimetiere Du Precieux Sang main entrance, and official address, is Rathbun Street in Woonsocket, RI. The state line runs mainly east/west directly through the property, cutting across the southeast corner and making most of the property actually in Blackstone, MA. However, it is considered a Woonsocket cemetery and the city's largest with 16,000 burials. No new lots or single graves have been available for sale after 31 May 1955. The cemetery is maintained by Precious Blood Parish which dates from 1881 and is the oldest French-Canadian church in Woonsocket.
