Alan Jones, the 1980 Formula 1 World Champion is the last Australian champion. This statue is at the Formula One track used for the Australian Grand Prix.

This bronze life size statue is located on a granite plinth. He is shown in his driving suit. The statue was sculpted by Barbara McLean and unveiled in 2013.

He raced in Formula 1 from 1975 to 1986 and also at the Bathurst 1000.

Alan Jones is the second Formula One World Champion, winning the title in 1980. He became the first Formula One Champion for the Williams team.

During his Formula One career he raced with Hesketh, Hill, Surtees and Shadow before moving to Williams.

After his retirement from Formula One he raced in a variety of categories and made a brief return to the Haas team.

In Formula One he won 12 races, had 6 pole positions and one World Championship
