The Bison has long been the mascot for Oklahoma Baptist University. These three bison, by sculptor Bill Secunda, were installed in 2015 along with the new sign to represent "Virtus" (a specific virtue in Ancient Rome with connotations of valor, excellence, courage, character, and worth) as characteristic of OBU and its students, faculty, and staff.
