Known as
Providence Performing Arts Center since 1982, Loew's Movie Palace opened in 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island. It operated as Loew's Theatre from 1950 through 1972 and booked more live concerts than movies. Of the latter, this is a vintage ad for the showing of The Beatles first United States concert -- via "CLOSED CIRCUIT - BIG SCREEN!" -- twice daily, at noon and 2:30PM, on March 14 and 15, 1964. Filmed 11 February 1964, when The Fab Four performed their first US concert, a show at Washington Coliseum in Washington, D.C.
