The village of Auchenblae is situated in the former county of Kincardineshire, now the southern part of Aberdeenshire, in the vast rural area of The Mearns in eastern Scotland. The village, like most others, had a working telephone box at its centre which eventually became redundant and fell into disrepair. The community purchased the box from British Telecom for £1 and refurbished it, and it now houses a defibrillator unit.
The box is situated in the Market Square on the western side of the High Street.
