The Castlemaine Town Hall is built in 1898 on the site of the former Castlemaine Municipal Chambers which was destroyed by fire.The building was constructed in the Queen Anne style with elements of Dutch Renaissance of face red brick with coloured cement dressings (now painted white) and a tiled roof. The square tower has circular openings on all four sides and is topped with an onion dome
