The Broad Street bridge crosses the Blackstone River between Cumberland and Central Falls, Rhode Island. On April 24, 1989, it was dedicated as the World's First Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossom Bridge.

The Broad Street Bridge crosses the Blackstone River between Cumberland and Central Falls, Rhode Island. On April 24, 1989, it was dedicated as the World's First Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossom Bridge. A cast aluminum plaque with a bright blue background is mounted to the stone barrier rail along the southwest sidewalk at the midpoint of the bridge. The text reads:
WORLD'S FIRST SRI CHINMOY PEACE BLOSSOM
SRI CHINMOY PEACE BRIDGE
uniting
CUMBERLAND - SRI CHINMOY PEACE TOWN
and
CENTRAL FALLS - SRI CHINMOY PEACE CITY

Dedicated April 24, 1989 by CUMBERLAND MAYOR
FRANCIS R. STETKIEWICZ and CENTRAL FALLS
MAYOR CARLOS A. SILVA. Rededicated August 12, 1997
by CUMBERLAND MAYOR FRANCIS A. GASCHEN

Sri Chinmoy, born August 27, 1931 in Bengal, India came
to the United States April 13, 1964. Until his passing in
2007, he offered his message of peace to all through his
prolific creativity in literature, music, art and sports.
