Stedelijk wonen in de binnenstad van Gouda, dat wordt mogelijk gemaakt met de bouw van nieuwbouwcomplex De Koploper in Spoorzone Gouda.

In opdracht van Mozaïek Wonen werkt Dura Vermeer op dit moment de plannen uit voor de bouw van de 156 sociale huurwoningen. Met de realisatie van dit grote aantal betaalbare woningen wordt in de woonbehoefte van de gemeente Gouda voorzien. De woningen zijn bestemd voor een brede doelgroep van één- en tweepersoonshuishoudens die in een stedelijke omgeving wil wonen. Op de begane grond komt in de plint ongeveer 550 m2 aan maatschappelijke voorzieningen en een binnentuin boven het overdekte parkeergedeelte.

De Koploper is ontworpen door Studio Leon Thier Architectuur/Interieur. Architect Rigobert Nivillac: "Het U-vormige en duurzame gebouw biedt dankzij de centrale ligging in Gouda een nieuwe en kwalitatieve manier van stedelijk wonen. De architectuur geeft het gebouw een eigenzinnige identiteit waardoor De Koploper goed aansluit op de diversiteit van de markante gebouwen in de Spoorzone. De plint is geschikt voor maatschappelijke voorzieningen en de binnentuin, boven het overdekte parkeergedeelte, wordt een groene oase binnen de stad".

De naam De Koploper komt uit de wereld van de spoorwegen. De Koploper is de naam van een trein met een verhoogde doorloopkop aan het begin en het einde van het treinstel. Boven in de kop zit de machinist. Er is voor deze naam gekozen omdat het gebouw naast het spoor komt te staan en omdat het ontwerp van het gebouw een verhoogde kop laat zien.

Naar verwachting gaat in het vierde kwartaal van 2022 de 1e paal de grond in. De periode daarvoor is nodig voor de voorbereiding van de bouw. In het tweede kwartaal van 2022 starten we het voorbereidende grondwerk.
