The First Congregational Church of East Windsor was organized on June 25, 1752. Their first church was built in 1754. I was destroyed by fire in 1802. The present church was built immediately thereafter and open in 1802. The tower which include the clock was added in 1810.

The façade of the two-story high church is three bays wide which are separated by four Doric pilasters. A set of stps leads up the the entrances located at the first and third bays. The middle bay is empty except for a identifying sign. Above the entrances are triple 3 by 2 multi-paned windows with black shutters and a pediment.

Rising from the center of the gable roof is a three stage square tower. With progressively smaller stages. The first stage contains a four sided clock. The second stage is a belfry with louvered rectangular windows flanked by two sets of smooth round columns. The third stage is a tower with two smooth round columns on each side and a flat roof.

The sides of the church are five bays wide. The lower level has 5 by 4 multi-paned double hung windows with green shutters. The upper level windows matching those on the front but with green shutters. The back of the church has a attached parsonage and parish center.
