Vagar Airport was originally built as a military airport, but in 1960 was transformed into an international airport. The new Vagar Airport terminal was inaugurated in June 2014 and in 2017 the airport rounded 300000 passengers annually.
Inside the terminal building there is an information and tourist center and a few cafes.
