Vagar Airport was originally built as a military airport, but in 1960 was transformed into an international airport. The new Vagar Airport terminal was inaugurated in June 2014 and in 2017 the airport rounded 300000 passengers annually. When you leave the airport, in addition to travelers, you can also meet sheep.
In 2011, the runway was extended from 1250 meters to 1799 meters.
