Village sign adapted to the character of the village at the northern entrance to Borstel (Luhe).
The colourful coat of arms shows a typical old half-timbered house with a thatched roof. This is integrated into a stylised half-timbered house built of wood, bricks and roof shingles.
Finds in the Borstel area prove that people were already settled here 8000 years before Christ. However, Borstel was first mentioned in documents in 1158 in the records of the Bardowick monastery. On 1 July 1972 Borstel was incorporated into the district town of Winsen (Luhe).
