South Lyon has created a historic park at the Witch's Hat Depot Museum with several buildings having been moved there. It is at 300 Dorothy St, South Lyon, MI 48178. In addition to a caboose they have relocated this fire bell. The bell is about 3 feet tall, black cradled in two iron supports. From the plaque inside the roof of the bell support structure:
This fire bell was originally located in
the tower of the City Office-Fire Hall
at 220 N. Lafayette. This dual use
building collapsed in November, 1957.
The bell now stands in the Witch's Hate
Historic Village as a tribute to our
volunteer firefighters.
