Arts in Richardson

"Radiant Shield is inspired by the Richardson Police badge. The radiant lines of the emblem not only represent a protective gesture, but also evokes how the police department engages the community through outreach. The sculpture reads as a shield from a distance, but as the viewer approaches, they discover that it is a complex form that is composed of interconnected elements. A low circular limestone wall surrounds the work as a contemplative memorial feature, presenting the names of fallen Richardson officers and words of honor."
