The monument was presented to the public on 13 July 1980. It pictures a kneeling girl in army uniform, with a bag over her shoulder with a cross. She holds an injured soldier. The monument was designed so the sun will never reach the face. It honors all female orderlies that took part in battles of WWII, especially in Kolobrzeg.
The monument has no inscription other than the author's signature - Adolf Cogiel.
The inspiration for the monument was Ewelina Nowak - 19 years old orderly, who died in 1945, trying to evacuate a soldier from a battlefield. Adolf Cogiel is the artist behind the monument. The sculpture has the face of Zofia Jankowska, who was noticed by Cogiel on the street and asked to model.
The monument is located in the park near Deptak Sikorskiego - a promenade close to the seashore. It is a spot worth visiting while walking to the beach.
