Martinus Jansen werd in 1855 te Tongelre geboren als zoon van een andere Martinus Jansen. Deze was een fabriek en thuiswerk-bedrijf begonnen in de productie van kousen en sokken. De tweede Martinus Jansen trouwde met Catharina de Wit en kreeg vele kinderen. Ze verhuisden de fabriek naar Woensel. Omdat Philips in de regio Eindhoven een grote concurrentie lag op de arbeiders, vestigde het echtpaar de fabriek in 1915 te Schijndel. In eerste instantie werkten er tientallen arbeiders in de fabriek, maar dit zou later enorm uitgroeien. Martinus overleed in 1929 en werd opgevolgd als directeur door zijn zoon Hendricus Jansen. Hij breidde de fabriek uit en herstelde de fabriek nadat hij door de Duitsers in 1944 was gesaboteerd. Hendricus overleed in 1950 en toen werkten er al tussen de duizend en tweeduizend mensen in de fabriek, een groot deel van de Schijndelse werkbevolking.

In het Jansenpark staan drie bustes van de familie Jansen. De Martinus Jansen die de fabriek naar Schijndel heeft verhuist is in het midden afgebeeld. Deze buste is gemaakt door Peter Roovers. Aan de linkerkant staat een relief afbeelding in brons van zijn zoon Martinus Jansen (de derde), die ook een grote rol in de fabriek heeft gespeeld. Aan de rechterkant is de buste van Hendricus Jansen, ook gemaakt door Peter Roovers.

Martinus Jansen was born in Tongelre in 1855 as the son of another Martinus Jansen. This was a factory and home work company started in the production of stockings and socks. The second Martinus Jansen married Catharina de Wit and had many children. They moved the factory to Woensel. Because Philips in the Eindhoven region faced great competition from the workers, the couple established the factory in Schijndel in 1915. At first dozens of workers worked in the factory, but this would later grow enormously. Martinus died in 1929 and was succeeded as director by his son Hendricus Jansen. He expanded and restored the factory after being sabotaged by the Germans in 1944. Hendricus died in 1950 and by then between a thousand and two thousand people were already working in the factory, a large part of the Schijndel working population.

There are three busts of the Jansen family in the Jansen Park. The Martinus Jansen who has moved the factory to Schijndel is depicted in the middle. This bust was made by Peter Roovers. On the left is a relief image in bronze of his son Martinus Jansen (the third), who also played a major role in the factory. On the right is the bust of Hendricus Jansen, also made by Peter Roovers.
