Pyote Army Airfield 1942-1947 was the site of a bomber training school and prisoner of war camp. It was nicknamed the Rattlesnake Bomber Base because of the number of snake dens around. The museum is partially in an old building from the base that was moved to the old school property in Pyote (a near ghost town). For more information here are two sites about the museum and the airfield.
