Högasand Nature Reserve is an area with among spruce trees, pine trees, several that are 300 years old, and sand dunes. Högasand covers 95 hectares and there is public access around the clock. There are many hiking trails in the area and dogs are allowed, but only on a leash. The long-distance hiking route "Blekingeleden" also runs through the area. The area is dry and hot and is home to the rare beetle Buprestis octoguttata. It is a black beetle with eight yellow spots. The old and hollow trees are also good habitats for birds, such as owls and various sparrows.
