The glossy black painted metal drum could be 40 litres in volume (10 gallons). With a circular hole cut out to the road-side, and 2/3s of a short piece of stainless steel tube over that hole, is used for the bulls head. A couple of shaped rusty steel strips are welded on the top for the ears; while hanging beneath and supporting the bull on top of the square metal post, are the four rusty legs.
The rear of the bull is actually the top of the drum, and a semi-circular flap is hinged there, with a ready-made handle to lift the flap up, so as to retrieve the incoming mail.
