"The Daughters of the American Revolution [ed. Samuel Bacot Chapter] honored the Merchant Marines...by presenting a monument that is now housed at the Florence Veterans Park. The monument consists of anchors donated by Patriots Point Naval and Marine Museum of Mt. Pleasant. Browns Memorials in Florence designed and manufactured the monument."
