The Sand Creek Cultural Center covers a hundred and sixty acres of exhibits, both indoors and out. Among these is an 1888 one-room school house; outside the school house are a school bell and tower and this hand-operated water pump. Since the school was moved here, I suspect that the pump is merely a display and is not connected to a well or water source.
