Stuckey CoA on a hatchment in St Winifred's church, Branscombe.
This hatchment is possibly that of Robert Stuckey. The background in both halves is black, which indicates that both husband and wife were deceased. Mary Stuckey (nee Bartlett) died 1763, and Robert died 1768.
However, this could also represent a bachelor, and thus be for the youngest son of Robert and Mary, William Stuckey, who died 1775.
The lack of a death's head in the bottom corner is a strong indication that the hatchment is not that of John Stuckey, the elder son (d 1810), as he died a bachelor, and was the last of the male line. The death's head was usually used to indicate no heirs.
