The church occupies the building first built by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield for St. Mary of the Assumption Church in 1981. The church was subsequently closed and St. Mary of the Assumption Church was merged with St. John the Baptist Church in Ludlow to become a new parish of St. Elizabeth Church. The church building was then sold to the Church of the Nazarene.
The modern T-shaped brick building has a steeply pitched gable roof with a square tower at the apex of the roof on the southeast side. A pyramidal spire topped by a finial rises from the center of the tower.
The front of the church has a set of steps leading up to a portico entrance which is covered by a gable roof. The sides of the church have a circular window followed by six stained glass windows with rounded tops and white aprons.At the back of the church an extension protruded to the east and the west .
