MEMORIAL TO AGRICULTURE
BY
JOE C. SMITH, M.D.
This Memorial embodies the very heart and soul of the legacy of agriculture in Burleson County.

The centerpiece is the master condenser from the Vykukal Cotton Gin that was active on this site for many years. The two faces atop the condenser represent the different ethnic races who toiled in the fields to produce the crops. Each of the columns that encircle the Memorial is crowned with a farm implement of days gone by. These have special significance since they were donated by Mrs. Mollie Smith - wife of Dr. Smith - and were used on here family's farm in Navarro County, Texas.

James Urbanosky, Jimmy Urbanosky, and Bill Colley assisted in this project under the guidance of Dr. Smith.

We are all inspired by the talent of Dr. Smith and are forever grateful for this outstanding tribute.
