"De Plataan" is a mosaic by the American-Dutch artist Nan Deardorff-McClain (Delft Mozaiek), based on a design by Marijke Faber. The work of art is about two meters high and about four meters wide. Shown are several plane trees that lose their colorful leaves in autumn and the skyline of a small town is indicated - presumably this is a street in Delft and also a target. S Small details such as a few embedded mouse figures, several birds made of mosaic stones and a small protruding birdhouse draw the eye closer to the subject.
Broken wall tiles in different colors and smaller mosaic stones made of colored glass were used for the most part. In the lower left corner there is also a larger tile that refers to the project as part of the "Levende Etalage Dag" (living window day):
