Pena Corneira, located in the municipality of Leiro, reaches 675 m. From a distance it is easily distinguishable thanks to an elongated rock arranged vertically, which crowns it and gives it its name. Some believe they see in it the silhouette of a unicorn. The “menhir” of O Ribeiro
The stone horn of about ten meters vertically rises above other large rocks to appear intact among the vegetation. In this way, Pena Corneira constitutes the visual reference from almost any point of the Avia Valley, in the O Ribeiro wine region. It is also accompanied by many other rocks of curious make or combination. Among them, bowls of rounded shapes, piled up, corridors between stone walls and other erosive shapes predominate. All this in a mid-mountain landscape that also preserves its native plant cover in many parts.
The ascent can be done on foot along the hiking trail that starts in the Leiro River Park, about nine kilometers from the summit. The road is equipped with footbridges and stairs in the steepest sections and has interesting derivations to the ethnographic area of ??the Regato do Foxo, with a set of six mills and thirty rehabilitated hórreos, or to the Romanesque church of San Tomé (Serantes). You can also get there by car to the forest park near the Pena Corneira base itself or, from the same place, to the O Outeiral viewpoint. Undoubtedly the best places from which to enjoy this Natural Monument, by extension the largest in the autonomous community.
This protected space is bordered by the Ridimoas forest (Beade), owned by the cultural-ecological association of the same name, which promotes its regeneration and educational dissemination.
Access
Detours on the provincial road OU-504 (Ribadavia-O Carballiño), either in Leiro or Beade, (OU-212) to the town hall of Avion."

You can access from the parking recreative place next to the church N 42º 22.337' W 8º 10.815' and go around and see other high stones. At left of the Parking you can go to the left to one mirador and right and up to the Castle (it isn't castle now, but is the place)
Other access is from N 42º 22.078' W 8º 11.346' that you start on the ground and end up on a slope of stones. It's 300m long here and you can park on the other side of the road.
The view is a show! vegetation, a lot of granitic rocks, and some traditional caches.
