Chapelle de l’ile Saint-Anne
En 1924, un marchand d’Alma, Francois Gagné, dans l’espoir d’une
guérison, promet à Sainte-Anne d’ériger une chapelle sur le faîte du rocher
de l’île Sainte-Anne. Guéri, il l’a fait construire l’année même et la dédie
à la sainte. Les autorités municipales la déménage sur son site actuel en
raison de l’exploitation d’une carrière de granit tout près.

Chapel of Saint-Anne Island
In 1924, a merchant from Alma, Francois Gagné, hoping for a
healing, promises Sainte-Anne to erect a chapel on the top of the rock
of Sainte-Anne Island. Healed, he had it built the same year and dedicated it
to the saint. The municipal authorities moved it to its current site
due to the exploitation of a nearby granite quarry.
