The first Methodist Society was formed in 1802. Their church was used until 1851. The second church burned in 1899 and a new church was built in 1901 on 18 South Westfield Street in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam, MA. In 1965 the congregation moved into the current church at 459 Mill Street in Feeding Hills. The vacated church was then occupied by the Calvary Assembly of God.
The Agawam United Methodist Church has three distinct single story sections. On the west side is a section with a tall sharply gabled roof and two widely spaced triple window flanked by black shutters on the front. A large crucifix is located below the apex of the gable. The side has five bays with auxiliary entrances on the first and last bay and triple window flanked by black shutters at the middle bays.
The middle section is rectangular with a flat roof. The main entrance is on the southwest end.To the east of the entrance are two triple window flanked by black shutters. The third section on the east side is rectangle that protruded slightly north of the middle section. The side of this section has auxiliary entrances on the first and last bay and four sets of triple window flanked by black shutters at the middle bays.
