"The San Francisco DWTP has a maximum theoretical treatment capacity of 800 l/s, which in practice is reduced to 700 l/s due to the difference in water quality between the catchments, since the waters of the river Lonia require a more important treatment than the one they need the waters of the Miño river.
The entire municipality of Ourense is supplied from this DWTP in San Francisco, regulating its flows through a network of 21 tanks in service, of which 6 are in the network main and the rest are small deposits of the distribution network.
The main deposits are those of San Francisco (25,000 m³ altogether), Montealegre (7,000 m³), Eiroás (6,000 m³), ??Madrosende (600 m³) and La Chapa (120 m³), ??of which the first two are located on the left bank and the rest on the right.
The network is completed with a system of 9 pumps, of which 4 are in the main network and the rest in that of distribution. The pumps of the main network are those of the catchment of the Miño towards the ETAP from San Francisco (600 l/s), from San Francisco to Montealegre (780 l/s), La Chapa to Eiroás (227 l/s) and Eiroás towards Madrosende (106 l/s). This system makes it possible to cover the current demand, which is around 10.76 hm³, with a demand daily maximum of 40,000 m³ and an average of 29,487 m³."
