In 1867 Mr. William Terry Kirby Sr. and Mrs. Nancy T. Greer Kirby donated four acres of land adjacent to their home for the cemetery and the first church building. The oldest marked grave is that of Barbara Jane Moore, buried March 28, 1852. There are 8 Confederate veterans, 16 WWI veterans, and 2 WWII veterans buried here. The cemetery has 292 marked graves and 86 unmarked graves. Each unmarked grave is now marked with a stainless steel marker.
