The 30 meter high Arc de Triomf was constructed as the main gate for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. The reddish-brown brick arch was designed by Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas in the neo-Mudéjar style to emulating Moorish architecture. The frieze facing the park is a allegory depicting the city presenting medals to the exhibition participants created by Josep Llimona.
The stamp was issued by Spain on January 2, 2012as part of a set of six stamps featuring Spanish arches.
